One of the most loved comedians of Nepal, Deepak Raj Giri is a not just a gifted actor but also an efficient producer, director and script writer. The actor who shot to fame after bringing out ‘Tito Satya’—the sitcom that has continued to entertain families for more than 10 years now—has also received accolades for his performances on films like ‘Sundar Mero Nam’ and ‘Cha Ekan Cha’, among others. He will be seen next in ‘Wada No. 6’, slated for release on September 18.He shared with Republica, five things not many know about him. He was an “example” amongst his friends in schoolNot the kind a child is told to look up to, but the kind of exemplary figure a child is told to stay away from. “I was a terrible student, and mischievous child. As a result, all parents warned their children to stay away from me. I only passed SLC on my third attempt!” he says. However, he went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Humanities and believes that education is obligatory in this day and age. “I don’t think many actors will succeed today if they don’t have any educational background. Education reinforces creativity and that’s really important for an actor,” he observes.
