Paudel vows to end anomalies in education sector



Education Minister Dhaniram Paudel today said he would take special initiatives to end anomalies in the education sector.Speaking at an interaction held in Kathmandu today, Minister Paudel said the government would address the demands of Dr Govinda KC, orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, who staged hunger strike for eight times in the past demanding reforms in the medical education sector.
“We have already started taking initiatives to address Dr KC’s demands,” he said, adding, “His demands will be fulfilled on the basis of the report presented by Kedar Bhakta Mathema and Dr Bhagawan Koirala.”Minister Paudel also vowed to implement the eighth amendment to the Education Act-1971.
“It is our responsibility to implement the act,” he said, adding he was also serious about management of temporary teachers.Stating that the education sector should be kept away from politics, he said he would end the practice of appointing principals and members of school management committees on the basis of their political affinity. He said the government would ensure that no Nepali children is deprived of education
